My stepfather had a massive heart attack and then triple bypass surgery in February. He is making an amazing recovery and the surgeon later told us that he had never seen a heart so “sick” and that my stepfather was not expected to live. I know what it is like to feel so proud and amazed by the preservation of a parent :) I’m so happy to hear of your mother’s recovery!
